Disable ticket sales to past events

We have now had at least 3 instances where customers accidentally purchased tickets to events that occurred in the past. We have reached out to your team and been told there is apparently no way to stop this from happening other than archiving the whole event bucket. Since we still have upcoming events in the same bucket where this is occurring, we can not archive it. Super annoying for both us and the customers to deal with! Pretty please find a way to ensure people with old links, etc cannot buy tickets to events which have occurred in the past.

Since there is a feature under Additional Settings to CLOSE ONLINE TICKET SALES PRIOR TO EVENT START TIME (not recommended) - seems like this could be revised to allow ticket sales to be closed at a pre-determined time after the showtime as well.
This would help eliminate the issue of customers being able to buy tickets for showtimes that are past events.
This is a problem for showing theatrical films - where a film has many showtimes - having a drop-down with many past showtimes creates a headache and too much info being displaued and allows for mistakes to happen by the customer.

This should be controlled by event date. Seems elementary.
