Cash Discounts / Credit Card Surcharge

Need to be able to give a cash discount (or pass on Credit card fees) to patrons that want to pay in cash.
Right now it's legal to pass on Credit card surcharges in 47 out of the 50 states.
In Colorado, for example, a merchant is allowed to pass on credit card charges paid by the merchant, as long as the surcharge reflects the merchants costs, is plainly posted at the point of sale, and an itemized receipt can be generated that clearly shows the amount of the surcharge.
Obviously, this could potentially save film festivals of all sizes hundreds or thousands of dollars annually. And all we'd need is the ability to have pay types for each ticket that would specify whether a given ticket or pass was being paid for in cash or credit.

One workaround would be to enter a discount during cash transactions at the box office.

Hi Brian, thank you for this. You can easily pass on fees to customers for online orders via Settings > Fee & Tax Settings. This only applies to online orders, which can only be done via credit or debit card. Cash orders can only be processed in the box office, so if you need to pass on fees in the box office, you have to set a custom fee amount in Additional Settings > Box office. I recommend these help articles for further reading. https://help.eventive.org/en/articles/3625939-add-fees-to-box-office-orders
As you'll see in the first article, please note that "[s]ince the Eventive Box Office is able to accept cash payments, and credit card issuer agreements stipulate that customers pay the same price for cash and credit card transactions, we are not allowed to automatically pass fees on to customers the way it's done for online orders."
If you have any further questions or concerns on this at all, please just let us know via the support chat or at support@eventive.org.

Thanks. As specified, in order to charge a credit card surcharge at the Box Office (i.e. to pass along credit card fees to patrons paying with a credit card), we need to generate an itemized receipt that clearly shows the amount of the surcharge. Can Eventive do this?
