As of November 1, 2026, a few Canadian provinces and territories have stopped changing their clocks. British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Northwestern Ontario, and the Northwest Territories have all made the switch to permanent daylight time, meaning their clocks will not fall back on November 1, 2026.

Eventive’s time zone list has been updated with these new rules. If your organization is in one of these areas, please check your time zone setting and make sure it is set to the option below:
- Northwestern Ontario (formerly in the Central Time Zone):America/Winnipeg
- Manitoba:America/Winnipeg
- Alberta:America/Edmonton
- British Columbia:America/Vancouver
- Northwest Territories:America/Yellowknife or America/Inuvik
Saskatchewan and Yukon were already on permanent time, so organizations there don’t need to change anything as long as they’re set to the correct city.
- Saskatchewan:America/Regina
- Yukon:America/Whitehorse
For Canadian provinces that still observe seasonal time changes, please continue to use the following locations:
- Newfoundland & Labrador:America/St_Johns or America/Goose_Bay
- Nova Scotia:America/Halifax
- Prince Edward Island:America/Halifax
- New Brunswick:America/Moncton
- Quebec:America/Montreal
- Ontario:America/Toronto
- Nunavut:America/Iqaluit, America/Rankin_Inlet or America/Cambridge_Bay
Tip 1:
Always choose a time zone that includes a city name (for example, America/Edmonton), not an option that only shows a time zone name or abbreviation. City-based options are updated automatically when local time rules change.Tip 2:
When using Eventive Virtual, set your time zone based on your organization's location. If your audience is outside of your timezone, the Eventive Virtual watch page will present the date and time of the screening to your audience members in their own timezone according to their computer and browser settings. If your event times look an hour off, check your time zone setting first. If it’s correct and the times still look wrong, contact our support team and let us know where you are located and which time zone setting you are using.
